Set of 6 Medea Dining Chairs (2 Armchairs) by Vittorio Nobile, Italy, 1950's
€8.750,00 EUR
Set of 6 fully restored Medea Dining Chairs by Vitorio Nobili for Fratelli Tagliabue in Wood and Metal, Italy, 1955. Two with armrest.
We all know them, it's just a very iconic set of chairs. Rounded forms and a natural appearance together with a good balance in the materials, make this one of design icons of the midcentury Italian modern period. An elegant chair and a piece of art really, light weighted, woody and organic.
Fratelli Tagliabue was one of the first once working with bended multiplex, using steam and a mold to create the perfect curves. Quite innovative for that period. Brings back memories of the old Riva boats in front off the coast of Capri, Italy.
The set was fully restored by us. Days of sandpapering and lacquering, keeping the original patina of course. The result: a fresh and elegant set of 6, a safe bet for anyone who wants some character in the house.
Note: The armrest is 66 cm heigh in case you want to put it under the table, which works.
