Paolo Buffa Eight-Legs Grande Credenza in Wood and Brass, Italy, 1950's
This tall credenza has a long, elegant shape and stands on eight slender legs, almost like stiletto heels—light, refined, and perfectly balanced. The body is made of richly toned wood in excellent condition, with a subtle curve along the corners and a raised lip on top that gives it the feel of a classical Riva boat gliding over Lake Como.
The front is composed of ten vertical black panels, each ribbed and alternating with strips of warm wood, giving rhythm and depth to the design. Brass key pulls add a quiet touch of precision. It’s a piece that’s both graceful and practical, clearly made with care—and made to last.
Paolo Buffa (1903–1970) was a Milanese architect and designer known for refined neoclassical furniture. Trained under Gio Ponti, he collaborated with top artisans like Mario Quarti and exhibited at key events like the Triennale. His work blended elegance, craftsmanship, and modern comfort, earning international recognition.
