Ceiling lamp from Northern Europe, 1960s. Built up from three clear elements: black lacquered metal, copper, and a white diffuser. Three materials, three colors — together they just work. The black gives weight, the copper brings warmth, and the white balances it out.
The diffuser is not flat but has a grid structure, a welcome counterpoint to the round form of the lamp. That small contrast makes the whole more interesting. It feels solid and functional, but at the same time there is something refined, almost luxurious in the way the copper glows against the black.
A good piece from the period, with a character that recalls the work of Poul Henningsen and Louis Poulsen, while keeping its own identity.
