Rare Northern European modern double bed with integrated floating nightstands, 1950s.

A very well balanced design with clean lines and a calm architectural presence. The integrated nightstands almost appear to float beside the frame, giving the bed a light appearance despite its generous proportions.

Executed in teak with solid brass details and the original metal spiral supports still present. These supports were designed to prevent sagging and provide additional stability and comfort. The construction is thoughtful throughout, especially in the way the different materials are combined. Restrained, but with enough detail to keep it interesting.

The bed accommodates a mattress of approximately 195 cm in length comfortably, though a 200 cm mattress can also fit depending on the type and flexibility of the mattress.

The teak has developed a warm patina over the decades and the brass has aged naturally. The bed remains in very good condition with normal signs of age and use. Structurally solid.

An uncommon model, especially complete with both original nightstands and matching bases. Works very well in both minimal and more eclectic interiors.
