Hans-Agne Jakobsson V-155 Wall Light in Brass, Sweden, 1960s

An atmospheric and sculptural V-155 wall light designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced in Sweden during the 1960s. The lamp is composed of a series of horizontally layered brass bands arranged around a cylindrical core, creating a refined architectural form that is both minimal and highly expressive. When illuminated, the concealed light source produces a warm diffused glow that radiates subtly between the brass elements, generating the characteristic atmospheric lighting effect for which Jakobsson’s designs have become internationally celebrated.

The carefully spaced brass rings function both as structure and shade, softening the light and directing it outward in gentle horizontal bands. This layered construction reflects Jakobsson’s distinctive approach to lighting design, where the control of light and shadow becomes an integral part of the sculptural composition. The brushed brass surface has a soft satin sheen and has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, enhancing the depth and warmth of the material.

This example remains in very good consistent with age and use. The lamp produces a particularly warm and atmospheric light effect when illuminated.
