Christian Techoueyres for Maison Jansen Palm Lamp in Brass, France, 1970's
€6.900,00 EUR
Palm tree floor lamp designed by Christian Techoueyres for Maison Jansen, France, 1970s.
This sculptural lamp is made of hand-cut and welded brass, shaped into palm leaves with finely serrated edges. The design combines naturalistic detailing with a bold decorative presence, characteristic of Maison Jansen’s production during this period.
Christian Techoueyres was closely associated with Maison Jansen, the legendary Parisian interior design house founded in 1880, which worked for clients including the Kennedys, the Rothschilds, and the Shah of Iran. From the 1960s onwards, the firm developed a series of metal palm and floral lights that have since become icons of glamorous twentieth-century French design.
The lamp stands on a square brass base with a natural patina. Three light bulbs are hidden between the leaves, casting a warm glow through the perforated brass when lit.
Comparable examples of Techoueyres’ palm lamps are held in international collections and frequently appear in high-end auctions, underscoring their collectability and timeless appeal.
