Carlo Ratti

Carlo Ratti (1890–1961) was an Italian furniture maker from Monza who trained as a sculptor before turning, with his brother Mario, to curved-plywood furniture, developing a canvas-lamination bending technique shown at Milan’s 1919 Esposizione Lombarda di Arti Decorative. In the 1940s he relocated to Lissone and continued producing curved-wood furniture with his children Angelo and Piera, working alongside architects including Vico Magistretti and the Castiglioni brothers.
