Angelo Mangiarotti
Angelo Mangiarotti (1921–2012) was a Milanese architect and industrial designer, trained at the Politecnico di Milano, who spent time in the United States in the early 1950s, where he met Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. He is known for furniture and lighting that exploit the natural properties of materials, particularly marble tables joined by gravity alone, and received the Compasso d’Oro for lifetime achievement in 1994.
