Ico Parisi Umbrella Stand for Stildomus in Walnut and Metal, Italy, 1950's
€1.650,00 EUR
Rare 1950s Italian umbrella stand by Ico Parisi for Stildomus, made in walnut with metal detailing. The piece has the geometric, architectural quality that marks Parisi’s work in this period, with four angled walnut panels joined by slim metal strips and raised on small integrated feet. Inside, a removable metal drip tray in original orange lacquer completes the design. The warm walnut has a gentle patina and the construction shows Parisi’s precise way of working with simple materials to create an elegant volume. A functional object with a strong mid-century presence, and a nice example of the collaboration between Parisi and Stildomus in the years when the brand was developing its modern line.
The umbrella stand is in superb condition, the wood in very nice and warm and fresh and very clean in terms of damage, but hey, how often will an Italian umbrella stand be used / wet; it's always sunny in Italy...
