‘Diamante’ Cabinet by Luciano Frigerio, Italy, 1968
$2,450.00
This sideboard by Luciano Frigerio has no doors but has a valve on top instead because it was used to put over a radiator and you could put something on top to keep warm, such as food or things that needed to dry. It was also meant to hide ugly things in the house such as a radiator. It’s very well suitable to store things too such as blankets, ski-clothing or anything actually. It basically opens at the top and then you can put things in there. You can also use it as a display cabinet to put things on top of it such as flowers or ceramics.
This piece of furniture is part of the famous ‘Diamante’ series by Luciano Frigerio and the name comes from the diamond shaped wood carvings on the front panel. The sideboard is made of hardwood and has the typical looks of the dark black and brown. We think it’s Brazilian wood because it has the red-ish look and appearance. The sideboard is in good condition.
