Each chair is composed of stacked, rounded leather cylinders that continue far beyond what is structurally necessary, almost like the designer decided not to stop once the seat was finished. Guillerme et Chambron were a celebrated French design duo—Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron—whose work became iconic in the mid-20th century. Before they became known for their furniture, their story had a fascinating beginning. Their furniture company, Votre Maison, was established in the aftermath of World War II, and the factory they utilized had indeed been previously involved in weapon manufacturing. This history is a poignant reflection of post-war Europe, where industries were repurposed to rebuild and focus on peacetime creations.

Guillerme and Chambron met during the war and joined forces in the late 1940s. Their shared vision emphasized craftsmanship, functionality, and innovative design. Their furniture is recognized for its bold forms, intricate wood joinery, and a focus on comfort and usability.

The duo's designs, often playful yet sophisticated, stood out for their unique details, like sculpted backs, angled legs, and textured surfaces. Their pieces remain highly collectible and are a great investment.

The set should still be reupholstered (as you can see) but all according to your wishes. Tailor made. We work with the best upholsterers and seat weavers so feel free to reach out to tell us your wishes. It will not cost the world because it's only the seating part. Personally I think we should try to put bamboo / rattan on them and make thin red cushion to balance out against the blonde wood, but some very light Pierre Frey wool with some cushioning underneath would do great too. There are many choices so just shoot us a message!

Dimensions
Width: 46 cm
Height: 83 cm

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1020/8041/4083/files/f_42371652_1732445045360_bg_processed.jpg?v=1781284144
set-of-2-s13a-stools-old-version-pierre-chapo-elm-france-1970s-f-41594972
Set of 2 S13A Stools old version by Pierre Chapo in Elm, France, 1970's

This stool is a striking example of Pierre Chapo's craftsmanship, featuring the S13a model from the 1970s, made in France.
